We founded ProEconomy in 1993.

The company has developed rapidly since those early days, and has gained acceptance and a solid reputation within the UK NHS and European health sectors.

This reputation has enabled us to develop into the corporate sector. In 2001 the Orca system was installed in the HSBC headquarters in Canary Wharf, London and in 2002 a system was installed in the European Space Agency in Holland.

We have built on our reputation as a conscientious company that offers an effective solution to Legionella. Indeed, our growth can be attributed to our personal service and a philosophy of coupling the Orca system with a comprehensive program to provide complete peace of mind to all those for who Legionella-free and clean water is a priority.

Unlike other companies, that are after ‘the quick sell’ and consider their responsibility void as soon as their system is installed, at ProEconomy we make sure Legionella never returns through a tailor made, full maintenance and water analysis program that suits every client’s individual needs.

In essence, we take over your Legionella control responsibility not only for a few months or a year, but for as long as our system is installed.

We have controlled Legionella at every one of our 200 sites across the UK and Europe and have never, since we were formed, had a case of legionnaires disease at any site where our system has been installed.

We spend a lot of time and money on research and development. Indeed, Birgitta completed a Masters Degree at Cranfield University in environmental science 6 years ago and is now studying for a PhD in Legionella control covering not only copper and silver ionisation but other methods including Chlorine Dioxide and the temperature control regime.
